Royal River Salute
A River Thames Procession
September 9th 2015 represents a truly unique milestone in our island story. This is the day on which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reigning monarch in British History. On that day her reign will have lasted some 63 years and 216 days and we respectfully hope will continue for many more years to come. Never are words more fittingly sung than those, so familiar to us from the National Anthem: “Long To Reign Over Us”.
In order to mark this special occasion a procession of historic ships, classic boats and leisure cruisers will take place on the River Thames. The event begins at Tower Bridge at midday on Wednesday 9 September, finishing outside the Houses of Parliament approximately 30 minutes later.
