We are proud to announce that Havengore will again lead the Armistice Day Act of Remembrance on the River Thames on Friday 11th November 2016.

Havengore will depart St Katharine’s Pier at circa 1010hrs and then rendezvous, together with an escort of other vessels taking part, to the East of Tower Bridge. A lift of Tower Bridge will occur at 1020hrs whereupon two pipers, standing in the bows of Havengore, will pipe the procession upriver.  Map & Timings of Procession

The flotilla of vessels, with Havengore in the lead, will then travel as slowly as is practicable (at circa 4 knots) upriver, giving onlookers the maximum viewing opportunities. After approximately 30 minutes (i.e. at circa 1050hrs) the group of vessels will arrive in the waters in front of St. Thomas’s Hospital (and just pass the Palace of Westminster).

These vessels will then take station towards the south bank of the river with Havengore in the centre of the group. A religious service will start at approximately 1055hrs on the aftdeck of Havengore conducted by the Rev. Can. Roger Hall MBE via Havengore’s public address system.  The service should be audible to other vessels in her immediate vicinity and potentially also to onlookers on the Albert Embankment in front of St Thomas’s Hospital.

As Big Ben starts to strike the hour at 1100hrs the two minute silence will begin. Havengore will sound her horn to mark its ending.
The remembrance service will then continue for about another 20 minutes, ending with a biodegradable poppy wreath being placed on the water from Havengore.
